Now you can experience an untethered virtual reality gaming after Zotac released its VR Go, a wearable gaming computer. It is said to be the future of virtual reality gaming environment, and so Zotac's VR Go doesn't come cheap.
Zotac has joined MSI and a few other companies that are now selling wearable VR backpacks, as reported by The Verge. Zotac's VR Go has two hours battery life per charge, but the batteries can be easily replaced so players can quickly go back to the game. There are two battery packs with a capacity of 6,600mAh each.
Zotac VR Go is equipped with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 GPU, quad-core 2.8 GHz Intel Skylake Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 240GB M.2 SSD, which provide a "powerful yet efficient performance." Other notable specs include Dual Gigabit LAN, Wifi 802.11ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, and a 6x3.0 USB. Both RAM and internal memories can also be upgraded if the user wants. The device is also suitable to most gaming titles.
"The ZOTAC VR GO is designed for a truly mobile VR experience. From hardware to comfort, every detail is considered," Zotac said via BetaNews. "The VR GO breaks the tradition, and sets the standard for wearing a device with full desktop capabilities."
In terms of price, Zotac VR Go doesn't come cheap. The company is currently selling it for $1,999.99, according to The Verge. To note, the price is only for the portable PC system and does not include the actual VR system the player needs to purchase.
But the price doesn't seem to bother VR fans. Zotac VR Go is reportedly already sold out on Amazon. However, those who are interested can still place their orders and have their device shipped as soon as the stocks are replenished.
