Among the best players in the NBA 2016 league are Washington Wizards John Wall and Sacramento Kings DeMarcus Cousins who happen to be best buds. In fact, the two hit headlines when news broke that they are open to playing together, reuniting really, for one single team.
"We talk about it all the time," said John Wall in a post-game interview with The Washington Post after Wall and the Washington Wizards defeated DeMarcus Cousins and Sacramento Kings last Monday night in overtime 101-95.
The report also noted that Washington Wizards John Wall and Sacramento Kings DeMarcus Cousins enjoyed Washington D.C. night life together despite them playing for opposing teams. The two NBA players used to play for the University of Kentucky together until one had to make Sacramento his home.
According to Sporting News, both of their talents are wasted on struggling franchises. They haven't been paired with good players that can complement their play style. Washington Wizards John Wall and Sacramento Kings DeMarcus Cousins fan base are really hoping that one day they would be playing for the same team.
Also, Sacramento Kings DeMarcus Cousins corroborated that a discussion has indeed taken place. Cousins even included Phoenix Suns point guard Eric Bledsoe, another former Wildcat, and identified a team for them to all meet up on, per report.
"They're going to all come to Sac," DeMarcus Cousins said. "Come to Sac! [Wall] wants me [in D.C.], Eric want us in Phoenix. You never know what will happen. It's the NBA, so hopefully one day he'll be in a Sacramento uniform."
This is not surprising if 2 or 3 close players may want to at some point band together to achieve the coveted championship as this is a new NBA era. Although both players Washington Wizards John Wall and Sacramento Kings DeMarcus Cousins are up for the possibility of teaming up together, fans will probably have to wait.
Washington Wizards John Wall still has at least until 2018-2019 NBA season in his contract. On the other hand, Sacramento Kings DeMarcus Cousins still has two year left with his current employer.
