Nokia is attempting to make a huge comeback in the mobile phone industry with an Android smartphone. The Finnish communications company is set to release the all-new Nokia D1C Android smartphone in 2017. Can it put Nokia back in the game?
The confirmation of Nokia's comeback was first revealed during the company's Capital Markets Day this year. Reportedly, the new smartphones will hit the shelves in the second quarter of 2017.
For now, Nokia has confirmed that the D1C will be its newest offering. However, its name might be changed once it's released.
The Nokia Android D1C is said to have two versions, each with different screen sizes. The larger version reportedly has a 5.5 inches screen. The resolution is said to be 1080 x 1920. The RAM is expected to be at least 3 GB with a 16-megapixel rear camera. The new Android phone from Nokia is also expected to have 2k display which runs on Android 7.0 OS.
The second, smaller version is said to have a 5-inch screen. The RAM is expected to be 2 GB with a 13-megapixel rear camera. Both will have Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, as reported by Phone Arena.
With these features, it’s clear that Nokia D1C Android will surely be sold in the market at an attractive price. There's still no final design released by Nokia, but fans and critics alike are already waiting for the launch. Others even would like to see real buttons on the smartphone instead of on-screen buttons.
The Nokia D1C Android big reveal may quite possibly be made during the Mobile World Congress this February 2017, according to Forbes.
Below is a concept trailer of the possible look of the new Nokia D1C. Do you like what you're seeing so far? Do you think Nokia can successfully compete with smartphone giants such as Apple and Samsung?
