'Scandal' Season 6 Updates: Power Shifts To Olivia Pope

“Scandal” fans now know that Jake (Scott Foley) is Olivia Pope's (Kerry Washington) new source of power as Mellie's (Bellamy Young) running mate. However, the real question everyone's been waiting for is, who will win the presidential election?

The new poster of the show explicitly states that “The balance of power is about to shift.” Does this mean Olivia’s candidates will lose over Cyrus (Jeff Perry) and Vargas (Ricardo Chavira)?

If this is the case, it’s sure that the Gladiators will surely find a way to stop the Cyrus-Vargas team from winning. The question now is whether Olivia and Mellie decide to rig the election the same way they did for Fitz (Tony Goldwyn).

This is another possibility when viewers consider Olivia’s statement that she won’t be wrong. Fitz could have been talking about the possibility of Mellie losing, but Olivia will have a lot of things up in her sleeves in “Scandal” Season 6, Bustle reports.

However, the poster can still mean a lot of things. It can also be that Olivia is actually in control of everything.

Another important thing that fans should be looking at is the trailer of “Scandal” Season 6. Here, Olivia declares that she’s still not done running for president, even if Mellie is. It’s clear that Olivia still wants to be in power and fans will have to wait how she’ll do it.

Nonetheless, "Scandal" fans believe that there’s still more to this poster than meets the eye. Fans know that the show won’t be in its sixth season if everything is simply too predictable, E! News reports.

The Gladiators, Quinn (Katie Lowers) and Huck (Guillermo Diaz) also have something in store for the fans in the latest promo of “Scandal” Season 6. This could really have something to do with Olivia’s plan of winning and could also be to shift all the power to her.

“Scandal” Season 6 is set to air on Jan. 19 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
