‘Peppa Pig’ News: Animated Series To Make A Grand Big-Screen Debut In Australia; Muslim Leaders Campaign For Alternative Cartoon Show, Why?

The beloved kiddie cartoon TV series "Peppa Pig" from UK is about to make its grand big-screen debut in Australia on March 16, 2017 with its Australian-themed cinematic event titled "My First Cinema Experience: Peppa's Australian Holiday." Kids and kids-at-heart will enjoy this interactive show where Peppa Pig will meet new Australian friends Mr. Wallaby, Kylie Kangaroo, a koala and a platypus. Prior to the big event, Islamic leaders in Australia are apparently campaigning for an alternative show for "Peppa Pig."

"My First Cinema Experience: Peppa's Australian Holiday" is an hour-long event featuring nine episodes, where four episodes were set in Australia. It is tagged as interactive because it features live-action footages that are danceable and viewers can sing along with the music too.

Although fans of "Peppa Pig" series will miss the iconic muddy puddles in the upcoming Australian big-screen debut, they will still enjoy the adventures of Ms. Pig and her family. Peppa Pig and family will travel over Uluru and will visit the Great Barrier Reef. Another highlight is when the family learns how to surf.

Peppa Pig will also be traveling to London. Peppa will be seen touring a zoo and will have a grand time along with a canal. Fans can check out "My First Cinema Experience: Peppa's Australian Holiday" when it hits Australian theaters on March 16, 2017. Release date for UK and US is still to be announced, the Guardian reported.

Meanwhile, Islamic leaders in Australia are reportedly campaigning for an alternative cartoon show to replace the hit UK cartoon series "Peppa Pig." The Australian National Imams Council (ANIC) has recently started to raise funds for "Barakah Hills," the cartoon series that has passed halal, and the group are encouraging parents to help produce this new show so children will have an alternative show than the "Peppa Pig."

One4Kids is the production studio creating "Barakah Hills" and other Islamic-themed children show. The studio has issued a statement saying that the new children show aims to teach children the right ways to become a good citizen in the community, as well as to show them how to practice being a Muslim kid.

In an interview with BBC, One4Kids producer Subhi Alshaik emphasized that he is a certified "Peppa Pig" fan and he personally enjoys watching "Peppa Pig." However, he also believes that the UK cartoon series includes themes that "turn kids into brats." In this regard, the Imam council is now trying to produce "Barakah Hills" as an alternative kiddie show that is similar with the highly loved "Peppa Pig."

What do you think? Are there "Peppa Pig" episodes that encourage kids to become brats? Let us know your thoughts!
