We Happy Few just got a new massive update which will initiate of what looks like a total overhaul of the game's early version. This tale of the world seen through a parallel universe looks very fresh after the December's update.
"We Happy Few's" Clockwork update contained fixes and improvements for the current version of the game which is already available, on Steam for the PC Version and Microsoft Store for the Xbox One version. The Clockwork update contains the following improvements: Implementation of conversation mode which means that no one can kill an NPC during conversations, NPCs can now have highly scripted behavior wherein instead of their normal systemic behavior, encounters were also improved through a simplified and unified version of quests, a fix for Farraday, improved environment details from the ground up to make the village look more authentic.
Animations were also added in certain actions performed by the player during the game. The update also reminds players that they need to start an entirely new game since the previous version is no longer compatible according to the video presented by Gamespot.
"We Happy Few" is a Kickstarter project developed by Compulsion Games. The story follows an alternate reality of a fictional island called Wellington Wells wherein the residents invented a drug called Joy to forget their horrifying experience in the time of war. The intake of the hallucinogenic drug is a requirement within this Dystopian community and anyone discovered not taking the drug will be pursued by the authorities and the island's residents.
"We Happy Few" is a first person survival horror game created using the latest Unreal Engine 4 technology. The game shows some resemblance of Compulsion's first game called "Contrast." The most obvious example of this is the animation and art presentation. When it comes to the storyline and gameplay, Compulsion still has some of the most original concepts to date.
