As Hollywood A-lister, Aaron Eckhard tried his luck on doing an exorcism film, it may be considered a bad idea or not. Prior to the showing of his movie "Incarnate," many who have initially viewed the movie considered it as a disappointment.
However, as it was shown on Dec. 2, 2016, many other moviegoers may have a different view of the movie compared to the critics. It is a given fact that the movie "Incarnate" is yet another movie about exorcism which many may have already seen. The likes of "Emily Rose" and "The Conjuring" top notch this genre and they are the types that are difficult to compete with.
According to IMDb, one critic subxerogravity from the United States have commented on the movie "Incarnate" as "Not bad at all." According to the critic, the movie is not a typical ghost story. The lead, Aaron Eckhard plays a doctor who uses a nonreligious approach in exorcising demons. He uses a gift he has to enter the minds of those infected by supernatural parasites.
He continued by saying that he is expecting more from a horror story. Unfortunately, he did not get the expectation as it was not scary at all. However, he ended his critic by saying that it is still a good movie to watch.
Indeed, the movie "Incarnate" can still be considered a good movie for its different approach on exorcism. The movie is non-denominational in terms of getting rid of the demons infecting innocent people. Most exorcism movies use priests and other Catholic-related artifacts to ward off evil. This time, it is one's gift and no amulets like crosses and holy water.
As added by Movie Insider, the movie also stars Catalina Sandino Moreno, David Mazouz and many more. It is directed by Brad Peyton.
While many hardcore horror film fanatics would give the movie thumbs down for not delivering the expected scare effect, props of some sort should be given to the director for thinking of a different approach in exorcism. At least the movie "Incarnate" delivered a little cerebral feel to it.
