The queen of pop, Madonna is probably a legend that will never settle on being second best. This statement is once again proven with the recent news that a script with a working title, "Blond Ambition" and features the biopic of the 55-year old music legend received the most votes in "The Black List" for 2016. This annual survey that started in 2005 gathers the opinion of more than 250 executive producers about a list of presented screenplays.
As posted in Yahoo, the "Blonde Ambition" written by Elyse Hollander is the top choice of the voters among the unproduced scripts presented for the survey. This script that is set at a time when Madonna is still a struggling artist in the 1980's received 48 votes. Film outfits that are attached in the script by Hollander are Michael De Luca Producution, RatPac Entertainmen and Bellvue Productions.
For this year, the respondents had to choose among 73 unproduced screenplays. However the people behing "The Black List" has always emphasized that the top choice in the survey does not necessarily mean it is the best scripts among those presented.
Meanwhile, the three movies at the second spot by each getting 35 votes are "Life Itself" by Dan Fogelman, "The Olympian" by Tony Tost, and "The Post" by Liz Hannah as reported in The Guardian. Past scripts that received the most votes in The Black List were later developed into full-length films and turned out to be a success as well. Some of those films include "Manchester by The Sea," "Miss Sloane," and "American Sniper."
