'Game of Thrones' Season 6 Spoilers: New Jon Snow Theory Teases Of A Long-lost Twin

Fans cannot get over Jon Snow, the well-loved character in HBO's hit series, "Game of Thrones," because after several confirmations that he is dead, there is still a buzz about him. This time, the concern is about the family and possible twin of the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch.

Earlier, showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss revealed that they were required to identify Snow's real mother before the celebrity author George RR Martin would allow them to make a TV adaptation of his popular book series, "A Song of Ice and Fire." Fortunately, they studied the book well, and their educated guess was correct, according to The Week.

However, if the showrunners were able to identify the correct identity of Snow's mom, some were formulating theories. Among the popular theories on Snow's family was the R+L=J theory, which suggested that Snow was the son of Ned's sister, Lyanna Stark, and Rhaegar Targaryen. Lyanna made Ned promise on her deathbed that he would look after the boy as his own.

This theory makes Snow a Targaryen, Daenerys' nephew, and if he is indeed one, there's a chance that he might resurrect during his own cremation as Targaryen have a mystical connection with fire.

On the other hand, there are theories that Lyanna had twins, a boy and a girl. A prediction from Redditor ghostchief suggests a flashback opening for "Game of Thrones" season 6 featuring Ned and Lyanna that yields a new theory, R+L= twin. If this is correct, who is Snow's twin?

According to Huffington Post, at the Tower of Joy, the place where the theory springs, only Ned and Howland Reed survived the battle between the Kingsguard, and the new theory suggests that one of the twins went with Ned and the other with Howland.

For those still unconvinced, Meera Reed and Snow have a striking resemblance. Both have brown and curly hair, and if one puts a beard on Meera, she will definitely have the perfect look of Snow. Check out their photo here.

Moreover, if the two characters are twins, they need to be of the same age, and, yes, they are, as confirmed in the second book, "A Clash of Kings." In the Wiki of Ice and Fire lists Jon and Meera were also born in the same year, 283 AC, in the very same year Lyanna died. Moreover, the appendix of the book listed both as 15 years old. However, the report revealed that in the subsequent appendices, Snow's age was removed, and Meera's age was changed to 16.

Whether this speculation is correct or not, we will see in "Game of Thrones" season 6.
