The hype on the upcoming season of HBO's hit fantasy drama show, "Game of Thrones" never ceases. Now, reports are suggesting that the crew members are in Spain to film the sixth season. According to International Bustiness Times, a photo of the production set was posted in LaVozdeAlmeria.
The photo reveals a new structure being developed on the set in Pechina, Almeria, Spain. The report suggests that the crew arrived at the location and is building the set. At the moment, it is not clear what they are building, but the team is determined to keep their task on the hush because most of the materials they are using are directly brought from Ireland.
According to the report, sources disclose that the crew is working on a circular building like that of a temple. The team contracted the Fresco Film Services for the production work in Spain. The filming locations in the said country for "Game of Thrones" season 6 includes Almeria, Gerona, Navarra, Peniscola, Castell de Santa Florentina in Barcelona and Castle of Zafra in Guadalajara.
As per DW, part of the series' fifth season was filmed in Alcazar of Seville in Spain, which boosted the city's economy because 25 percent more tourists visited the city. "Everything looks really familiar - the architecture and whatnot," said Sam Dawson, a fan from the U.S. "I've traveled to a few of the other locations where they filmed, and it's got the exact same vibes."
So, more likely, whatever the crew is building, it will have the same look and feel of their other sets.
On the other hand, people can't still get over with Jon Snow's fate. In an interview with GoldDerby, season 6 director Jeremy Podeswa was asked if the crowd favorite actually died in the last season. This question has been a favorite for fans, who are desperate to learn about Snow's fate.
Podeswa refused to give details on Snow's fate, but he teased that the character's last scene was the "definition of a cliff-hanger."
"I've got nothing, watch the show it's going to be great. Jon Snows death was another huge storytelling thing. It's the definition of a cliff-hanger: where does the story go from here?" Podeswa said.
In a separate interview with Deadline, Podeswa was asked if he was aware of how the next season will go, knowing that he had important scenes on Snow's demise. The director confirmed his knowledge and just laughed, but requested not to be asked about the next season of "Game of Thrones."
