‘Underworld: Blood Wars’ News: Kate Beckinsale’s Character Is Nearing It's Tragic End Of The Franchise?

“Underworld: Blood Wars” sticks to the Matrix inspirations it has in the past with Selene (Kate Beckinsale) as the lead role. The film still has the element of ultraviolet and ammunition that can come as both good and worse for the movie.

With this, many had considered that character as a tragic end to the franchise. The fifth installment is reviewed as worse than the other films.

The prologue was confusing for some reviewers considering that it moved fast from one melodramatic scene to a backstory between Selene and her daughter. It can be recalled that she exiled her daughter to bring her to safety.

Another underwhelming review of the trailer of “Underworld: Blood Wars” is the underusage of Charles Dance, who gives life to a villain vampire. His characters seem to be ignored in the rest of the film even though his character seems to have significant implications in the story line, IGN reports.

Nonetheless, Kate Beckinsale considers that tragic personality and life of her character as something that made her commit to being Selene. In “Underworld: Blood Wars,” Selene is only traveling with David (Theo James) and is set to right the wrong.

In a lighter note, regardless of the reviews, Beckinsale still can’t answer whether this will be the last of the franchise. However, there will be a lot of things going on in the film, especially with the new casts. Fans don’t have to think that it’s the end as this will come in a new universe.

Being in a seemingly new universe, Beckinsale also added that she needed training starting from the first film. In “Underworld: Blood Wars,” she has to use new weapons, but there will be less guns, Collider reports.

“Underworld: Blood Wars” will be released on Jan. 6, 2017. Do you think this will be the last of the franchise? Sound your comments below.
