Android users get to finally download Google latest keyboard. Gboard was finally released last Friday for phones and tablets running Google's own Android software. It is available on the Play Store.
After months of questions why Google didn't release this sooner to Android, they have unveiled the newly improved Google keyboard. They have rebranded even the name, now called Gboard. Android users will have to search Play Store using "Gboard" instead of "Google keyboard."
Gboard comes with major improvements for Android devices. Among these notable upgrade include Glide Typing and Voice Typing and a built-in Google Search functionality, according to Softpedia.
Using the Gboard, Android users get to search and send information directly from the keyboard without having to switch from one application to the next. Gboard removed the hassle of copy and pasting certain information into another app.
Aside from the usual information such as flights, weather, or news, GIFs, emojis, and more are supported by the Gboard. However, according to Engadget, GIF sharing is only supported for Android users in Hangouts, Messenger, and Allo, despite using the Gboard. But Google promised more apps will be added soon.
Further, Gboard supports more than 100 languages. Google even confirmed that there is a multilingual typing feature that allows users to switch between languages easily. What is notable with the Gboard is that the software features learning algorithms that predict possible searches for the user, per Fossbytes.
Last May, Gboard was released for iPad and iPhones. However, the Cupertino-based tech Giant, Apple, imposed a serious limitation on all iOS-powered devices: there is no option for launch voice dictation.
Meanwhile, for Android users, simply download the Gboard app from the Play Store and install it in your Android-run tablets and smartphones. To use Gboard, simply tap the Google (G) icon on the upper left of the keyboard.
