'The Dark Tower' Movie Latest News And Updates: New Promo Poster Featured Idris Elba As Gunslinger, Tom Taylor As Jake Chambers

Sony is working on a lot of projects now and one of the much awaited is the release of "The Dark Tower." Although the release of the new flick was pushed back from February to July, Sony Pictures teased fans with a photo showing the lead stars of the film, Idris Elba as Gunslinger and Tom Taylor as Jake Chambers.

"The Dark Tower" is a novel of Stephen King of the same name and the new teaser photo bore the words that are familiar to fans of the author. The quote reads, "May Your Days Be Long Upon The Earth" and the caption that Sony wrote alongside the flick via Twitter reads, "And may you have twice the number." The photo had a pinkish red background and the color of the words is white. Elba and Taylor looked like they were drawn in the poster, Comic Book reported.

"The Dark Tower" latest promo photo might be because the expected trailer of the movie before Christmas this year was not released, We Got This Covered reported. A leaked trailer was recently revealed but it had unfinished special and visual effects. No official announcement has been out regarding when the real trailer will be released.

More on "The Dark Tower," it centers on the story of Roland Deschain, the last gunslinger of Mid-World. He is traveling across Mid-Wordl's post-apocalyptic scene as he searches for the powerful but indefinable magical edifice, which is The Dark Tower. It is the heart of all words and someone is using technology to destroy it.

Aside from Elba and Taylor, the other stars of "The Dark Tower" are Matthew McConaughey, Kathryn Winnick, Fran Kranz, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Claudia Kim, and Jackie Earle Haley. "The Dark Tower" will be out specifically in July 28, 2017.
