Former "Game of Thrones" actress Rose Leslie is back on television. The actress is the central character in "The Good Fight," the spinoff to "The Good Wife," which will begin its run on CBS All Access in February 2017.
Rose Leslie will be playing Maia, who is a lesbian lawyer and the godchild of "The Good Wife's" Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski). The "Game of Thrones" star has always shown feistiness on TV, but her scenes in the first teaser of her new show might actually stun fans.
In "The Good Fight" teaser, Rose Leslie as Maia is seen locked in a passionate kiss with another woman. Maia is also shown cuddling on the bed and in the shower with her female partner.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Maia has been in a relationship with her girlfriend for a long time. "She graduated from law school a while ago," "The Good Fight" showrunner Robert King explained. "Now it's Maia's turn to graduate from law school," he added.
"The Good Fight" takes place one year following the end of "The Good Wife." Diane Lockhart becomes involved in a financial scandal with her goddaughter, which has led her to leave her established law firm Lockhart & Lee.
She then joins Lucca Quinn (Cush Jumbo), another character from the original series, who has started her own law firm in Chicago. Fans can expect a few familiar characters from "The Good Wife" to also grace the spinoff series, including Sarah Steele, Zach Greenier and Carrie Preston.
"The Good Fight" is the first original series on CBS All Access, the subscription streaming platform for CBS network. The show is set to launch on Sunday, Feb. 19, with 10 episodes. Watch the teaser below.
