‘Isle Of Dogs’ Announced By BAFTA Awardee Wes Anderson & Edward Norton; Movie Gets A Release Date Too

BAFTA awardee Wes Anderson has just announced that his hands are now tied with a new stop-motion animated movie featuring dogs titled "Isle of Dogs." Following the filmmaker's announcement, Fox

"The Grand Budapest Hotel" director came out with a video of himself announcing his latest movie, "Isle of Dogs." In the clip, Anderson also shared some details of the upcoming movie. "Isle of Dogs" will feature the voices of stars Bryan Cranston, Bill Murray, Jeff Goldblum, Scarlett Johannson, F Murray Abraham, Tilda Swinton, and Harvey Keitel. The movie will also feature several Japanese stars like Kunichi Nomura, Akira Ito, Akira Takayama, Koyu Rankin and Yoko Ono.

While the director was enumerating the list of actors who will voice the film, star Edward Norton came out from behind saying he is also in the movie. Apparently, Edward Norton is voicing the lead dog character, Rex.

Wes Anderson mentioned that "Isle of Dogs" is currently filming in England. The director also explained that he created the clip to announce that they are giving the fans a chance to be included in the movie, as a way to support The Film Foundation. Martin Scorsese founded The Film Foundation in 1990 which aims to preserve films.

Here is how fans can be included in the movie. According to Anderson, those who will support The Film Foundation will get a chance to win an "Isle of Dogs" experience. The winner will be given the chance to do a small voicing role for "Isle of Dogs," the Playlist reported.

Meanwhile, Fox Searchlight Pictures has acquired worldwide rights to release "Isle of Dogs." The studio followed Wes Anderson's announcement revealing that they plan to release the movie in 2018. The announcement also detailed that the movie is set in Japan and the plot revolves around a boy's journey in searching for Rex, his dog.

"Isle of Dogs" will be distributed by Fox Searchlight Pictures in partnership with Indian Paintbrush. "Isle of Dogs" is actually the fifth film that the latter is doing with Anderson.

Fox Searchlight Pictures presidents Nancy Utley and Steve Gilula vouched for Wes Anderson's outstanding talent in filmmaking. The presidents expressed their amusement to go through this journey with the distinctive imagination of the award-winning director Anderson, Variety noted.
