Pixar is widely known for producing quality animated movies such as "Inside Out" and Toy Story" that viewers automatically have high expectations if a film is associated with this movie studio. Well, the next Pixar 3D computer animated venture simply entitled "Coco" seems bent on keeping up with the standards based on the newly-released details about the film.
According to a post from Entertainment Weekly, the plot of Coco will center around a boy named Miguel whose ultimate dream is to follow the footsteps of a late legendary singer, Ernesto De la Cruz. The conflict is that Miguel comes from a Mexican family who has banned music for generations. This no-music ban apparently started when Miguel's grandfather chose to abandon his family to pursue a dream for music.
The young Miguel will not let this family rule stop him as he will even set out to visit the grave of his idol during a Dia de Muertos or Day of the Dead. On this visit, Miguel will try a guitar hanging in the tomb of the deceased singer and it will unexpectedly lead him to the Land of the Dead. The movie becomes more interesting then as the film's protagonist would get to meet his long-dead relatives.
Along with plot details, Pixar also unveiled a new poster for the film which shows the main character, Coco playing a guitar in what seemed to be an intense musical performance. Meanwhile, a post from Heroic Hollywood features an interview with the director, Lee Unkrich who said that the film will be different from the other films they have made.
Lee Unkrich and Adrian Molina who are also part of "Toy Story 3" will team up to direct the film, "Coco." This movie will feature the voices of actors Anthony Gonzalez, Gael García Bernal, Benjamin Bratt, and Renée Victor. The Pixar movie animation musical is coming to theaters on Nov. 22, 2017.
