'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' New Year's Episode Has A 'Seriously Shocking Ending' [TEASER]

Fox's "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" is airing its winter season finale on New Year's night, Sunday, Jan. 1, at 8:30. The episode entitled "The Fugitive" is revealed as a two-parter that will have a "seriously shocking ending." It will be the show's final episodes before going on another round of hiatus.

According to a spoiler report on Entertainment Weekly, the shocker of an episode in "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" will involve escaped convicts. It will also have each of the principal cast members dealing with their own issues.

Running back Marshawn Lynch of the Seattle Seahawks will join as guest star, as the witness to a "mass convict escape," according to E! Online. Lynch is going to interact with Andre Braugher (Capt. Holt) and Stephanie Beatriz (Rosa) for much of his scenes on "Brooklyn Nine-Nine."

But the convict escape will also involve Andy Samberg (Jake) and Melisa Fumero (Amy) as they establish a bet on who would be able to capture most of the convicts back. The stake involves moving in together to the winner's apartment. It's a huge step for the couple who has started dating officially in "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" Season 3.

Jake, however, will get some help in finding the escaped convicts from an unlikely ally in the Pontiac Bandit. The role will be reprised by Craig Robinson, who returns to "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" for a third time, according to another Entertainment Weekly report.

Viewers will recall that Jake last saw the Pontiac Bandit on a speedboat and evading arrest. Capt. Holt will think that his return to "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" would be bad for his team, but Jake will insist on needing him.

Meanwhile, Rosa will get to meet her hero, while Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio) will learn of a big secret. On the other hand, Sgt. Terry (Terry Crews) will be addressing issues about his mortality. From these plots will come the shocking ending.

After the Jan. 1, it's still unclear when "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" will return for the rest of the season as Fox hasn't made any announcements yet. The show still has at least a dozen more episodes to air. Watch the preview to the New Year's episode below.
