Being celebrities keep one under scrutiny of the public eye and it can be tough situation. But if there's one thing celebrity ex-couples Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have no trouble dealing with it's co-parenting their twins, Moroccan and Monroe, age 5.
Following a tough start to the New Year, where Carey was involved in a controversy over her failed performance and Cannon recovering from spending the holidays in the hospital for lupus, the two spent this week together surrounded by family. Carey and Cannon, with their twins and Cannon's mother, had dinner together and it's apparently a regular thing they do as co-parents.
"It's kinda the norm," Cannon told People. "It's all rooted in love, it's all rooted in positive energy," he added. The ex-couple have always professed that despite their divorce, they are not bitter towards each other.
Besides their lives in the spotlight and their busy careers, Carey and Cannon have vowed to put their children first. "[We're] making sure they have the best childhood they could possibly have," the "America's Got Talent" host said.
So comfortable are the ex-couple with each other that Cannon was OK about Carey asking him on becoming a father again. The host and his ex-girlfriend Brittany Bell are expecting a child.
"[Mariah] came at me first about it, so it was actually easier," Cannon told New York Daily News. "She called me and she was funny with it," he added.
Cannon told the news outlet that the twins are eager to be big brother and sister. Even though Cannon and Bell split as well, the actor hopes to maintain a good relationship with her for their baby.
Cannon and Bell have known each other since they were young since their families live in the same neighborhood before. With the same background and the same values, the actor describes their on and off romance as "with substance."
Meanwhile, music superstar Carey recently split with her boyfriend, Australian billionaire James Packer, but as always, she gets the love and support from her family during tough times. In another People report, the singer is moving on with a potential relationship with dancer Bryan Tanaka.
