"Carpool Karaoke," which is a segment in James Corden's "Late Late Show" has been creating buzz in the past months as he has been inviting musical guests such as Mariah Carey, Selena Gomez, Bruno Mars, Adele, and many more. However, in the "Carpool Karaoke" series of Apple Music, fans will not get to see Corden host the show as there will be 16 different celebrity hosts.
Teen Vogue reported that Corden talked about the spin-off series of Apple Music during Monday's Television Critics Association press tour. Corden revealed that he will be one of the hosts but the other hosts included Ariana Grande, Will Smith, John Legend, Seth MacFarlane, and Alicia Keys.
Each episode of the "Carpool Karaoke" Apple Music spinoff series would last for 30 minutes and it will consist of singing and interviews. Some of the segments will also be filmed outside of the car. Corden will still be part of the spinoff series as an executive producer alongside Ben Winston and Eric R. Pankowski, E! News reported.
Corden continued to say that he is happy to let others experience driving around the city with some of the biggest names in the industry. He shared, "I don't feel like it's mine, really. I just feel like it's something I've been a part of, and now other people can share it."
Pankowski also explained that what Corden does is special, unique, and singular but it was "silly" for them to replicate and duplicate what he does exactly on his show. Corden noted that the line-up that they have are the people interested in doing it. One of the pair of guests would be Chelsea Handle and Blake Shelton. The two will be together in one episode and Corden said that the two came to them and talked about wanting to do the Apple Music "Carpool Karaoke" spinoff together.
The 16 episodes of Apple Music's take on "Carpool Karaoke" will debut this year. No other details on the premiere are available and it will exclusively be available on Apple Music.
