Vanessa Bryant celebrated her 38th birthday on Tuesday, May 5, and the letter by Kobe Bryant made it more memorable.
The former model shared a photo of the letter on her Instagram account and added a caption that says that she found an envelope written with a label saying "To The Love of my Life," and the sender was from "Tu Papi," meaning it was from Kobe.
She said that she waited for her birthday to arrive before she would open the letter, so it gave her something to look forward to on her day. She also said she misses the love of her life and her sweet little Mamacita, which is also a Taurus like her. She added that she is grateful to wake up each day to be with her three daughters that day, but she still wishes that they could all be together.
Kobe was 41 years old when he died in the horrific helicopter crash in Calabasas, California in January. He was with daughter Gianna and seven of her friends.
On May 1, Friday, four days before Vanessa's birthday, was her late Gianna's 14th birthday, and Vanessa posted a photo of her daughter on Instagram. She captioned the photo by greeting her daughter and said that she loves Gianna more than she could show her child. She also noted that Gianna would be a part of her soul forever.
She also wrote that she misses her daughter so much every day, and she wishes to wake up to have Gianna with her because she misses her smile, hugs, and giggles. She followed through, saying that she misses everything about "Gigi" and that she loves her so much.
Natalia Bryant, Kobe, and Vanessa's firstborn, also shared on her social media to celebrate her sister's birthday, saying that she misses her smile every day. Still, she knows that Gianna is smiling down on them now that she and their dad are in heaven.
Bryant's former Lakers teammate Pau Gasol and his wife, Catherine McDonnell, together with the Bryant daughters, Natalia, 17, Bianka, 3, and Capri, 10 months, sent Vanessa a bouquet to celebrate what could have been her and Kobe Bryant's 19th wedding anniversary.
On April 19, Vanessa Bryant shared the photo of a bouquet with pink and red flowers on Instagram. She included a caption that says, "Anniversary flowers from my Kobe," then she is thanking Gasol and his wife for the beautiful pink floral bouquet and their thoughtfulness.
On April 4, it was announced that her husband would be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. Vanessa told ESPN that it is an incredible accomplishment, and they are both honored and extremely proud of Kobe Bryant. She also said that they wished that her husband would be there to celebrate with them, especially that is the peak of his NBA career.
Apart from that, the Bryant family is incredibly proud of Kobe and his accomplishments. She also said that there is some solace in them knowing that her late husband was being included in the 2020 Hall of Fame class.
