A 20-year-old pregnant woman named Diamon Eichelberger was shot to death on Monday morning at Van Brunt Boulevard in Kansas City.
Eichelberger was four months pregnant and was strolling her 1-year-old daughter on the streets when the incident happened.
One suspect has been charged with second-degree murder by the Kansas City Police Department.
Shooting incident
According to the witness, Candy Dorsey, she heard gunshots while driving down Van Brunt. She said in an interview with Fox 4 that she saw a black car from where the gunshots came.
Other witnesses said that as Eichelberg fell, the stroller, which she was pushing, continued to stroll.
Dorsey ran to help Eichelberger, "And when I (have) seen the young lady laying on the ground, my first instinct was to go help her."
When authorities came, the 20-year-old mother was already pronounced dead.
Police immediately started the investigation on the case, which led to discovering that the woman was pregnant when she was shot to death.

Police arrested a suspect.
Updates on the case are posted on the official Twitter account of the Kansas City Police Department (@kcpolice).
Aside from the pregnant woman's identity, the police also updated on July 22 that they have two persons of interest. Both persons are in their custody. A few hours later, the police announced that they had charged a 19-year-old guy of second-degree murder.
According to the tweet, authorities were able to find evidence that point to the suspect. Also, the guy posted on Facebook, "Fu** a succa bitch she dead she dead," after the pregnant woman's death.

The one-year-old daughter that Diamon was strolling that day was reported to be safe from injuries.
Reports say that she was initially taken to a hospital for examination.
A GoFundMe campaign has been set up for the one-year-old girl of Diamon.
According to the page, Diamon was supposed to bring Belle to the hospital when the incident happened.
Piling homicide cases in Kansas City
According to the official Twitter account of the police, pregnant woman's death is the 106th homicide in Kansas City for 2020 alone.
Police Chief Rick Smith said in a press briefing, "We know we have to take some action, and there is a sense of urgency right now."
