A dad builds desks in Nebraska, as part of his initiative to help students attending virtual learning sessions.
Since the coronavirus pandemic, schools have shifted to virtual learning. During the reopening of schools, elementary and high schools are adapting to virtual learning.
Children of Nebraska dad, Marcus Holley, are a few of those affected by the changes brought by the coronavirus pandemic. While his kids are spending some time grueling into activities during virtual learning sessions, he noticed that his children are missing a key piece in the new learning setup. Holley realized that his kids needed desks.
Dad builds desks for his children, then for other kids
Because Holley does not have much idea on how to make a desk, he looked for help on the video streaming website, YouTube. There he found steps on how to make a desk.
Through the YouTube tutorials, this creative dad was able to finish the desks for his children.
However, he also thought that other kids might be missing the virtual learning setup that he thought of providing to his kids.
In an interview with a news outlet it was mentioned that as the dad builds desks, he thought of the lesser fortunate children being deprived of a more comfortable way to learn kept him bothered. So, he decided that he will continue creating desks and give it to children who needed them.

Free study desks
When the Nebraska dad began his good deed of constructing the desks, he was only charging the families for the materials in making the study desks, the manual labor was free of charge.
However, an anonymous donor provided 1,000 US Dollars for the cause, while the dad builds desks.
Since then, the big-hearted dad gave away free desks to children who are in need. He was no longer charging for the materials of the study desks.
The dad's inspiration in helping the kids
Aside from finding fulfillment in helping those kids who are in need, Marcus is eager to help the children because he wants to continue honoring his late son.
In 2008, Marcus tragically lost his three-year-old son.
The creative dad shares that he believes with every desk that he creates, he is honoring his 3-year-old son.
Also, this deed that the creative dad keeps on doing is his way to set a good example for his children and the younger generation. Marcus is hopeful that through his act of kindness, it will help in making the world a better place.
The creative dad believes that a person has not lived his or her life until they have helped somebody.
