Celebrity chef Curtis Stone said picky eating problems stem from parents who are worrying too much about their children, who happen to be picky eaters. In fact, some parents even let their kids dictate what they want to eat. Hence, the "Top Chef Masters" host suggested that parents should let their picky eaters starve more often.
"I think the problem is too many parents worry about their kids being hungry that they let their children dictate what they eat," the Melbourne-raised chef said to Herald Sun. "I don't see the big deal in letting kids go hungry a few times. They'll eat when they're hungry."
Stone, who has sons with American actress Lindsay Price, said that instead of pandering to picky eaters, parents should properly store the food that their picky eaters rejected. Then, parents can serve it up to their picky eaters at the next meal.
Furthermore, the celebrity chef advised not to offer any snacks to picky eaters between meals, so that they will get hungry and eventually eat the meals they rejected. Moreover, Stone is encouraging all parents to experiment with flavors, so their picky eaters will be persuaded to eat.
This is not the first time Stone voiced out his opinion about the common mistakes of parents. Recently, while promoting his cookbook, "Good Food, Good Life," the celebrity chef doesn't hold back expressing his thought about parents who are allowing their kids to eat junk food than healthy food choices.
"Our kid is going to embrace whatever you expose them to, right, that's just a fact of life," he said to Daily Mail. "People tell you, 'No, no my kid likes this or my kid likes that.' My opinion is; that's just not accurate."
