"Wonder Woman" has apparently cast Victoria's Secret model Doutzen Krouse alongside Gal Gadot, who plays the title character. As filming is underway in Italy, the stars have been sharing updates of what is happening behind the scenes via their social media accounts. A video clip taken from the Themyscira set also made its way online.
Cinema Blend reports that the "Wonder Woman" cast sat down for a meal in between filming and actress Connie Nielsen, who plays the Amazonian queen Hippolyta, posted a photo of the group on her Instagram. However, she let it slip that Victoria's Secret model Doutzen Kroes is also part of the movie, when there has been no official announcements made. Kroes is said to be playing an "Amazon sister."
Gal Gadot also shared a photo of the "Amazonian sisterhood" on her Instagram account, while tagging Doutzen Kroes and Connie Neilson. Fans took this as a confirmation of the cast addition. However, Movie Web cited that the Victoria's Secret model might just be having lunch with the actresses and not exactly part of "Wonder Woman."
The first photo released for "Wonder Woman," which was revealed in March, didn't show Kroes in the cast. Per Entertainment Weekly, Robin Wright and Lisa Loven Kongsli are the other Amazon warriors, aside from Gal Gadot and Nielsen. "Wonder Woman" will delve on the origin of the iconic character, who is known in the comic book series as from an Amazon world in another time. Hence, her life as an Amazon princess is going to be the foundation of the film.
Meanwhile, raw footage from "Wonder Woman's" Themyscira set in Italy has been making rounds on the internet. The video is believed to have been taken by a drone and shows the exotic production of Diana Prince's homeland, per The Wrap. Watch it below:
