At the end of the first season of "Supergirl," Kara Danvers was promised a new job by her boss, media mogul Cat Grant. She would no longer be serving as Grant's assistant. She was promoted and given a new office.
Cat Grant didn't explicitly say what Kara Danvers' new job will be just yet. But the addition of new characters in "Supergirl" Season 2, such as Nick Farrow and Snapper Carr, should provide some clues.
Parent Herald previously reported that Nick Farrow and Snapper Carr would be coming aboard CatCo Media as its journalist and the head of the news department, respectively. It was also revealed that Supergirl's alter ego and Nick Farrow would be working closely together, which means Kara Danvers' new job could be somewhat connected to news reporting.
'Supergirl' Season 2: Kara Danvers, Journalist?
A "sides," also known as test character dialogue in the film business, which was exclusively published on Supergirl TV, offered more clues as to Kara Danvers' new job on "Supergirl." It presents a conversation with Kara Danvers and Nick Farrow, where the latter is giving Kara tips about news gathering. It seems Kara Danvers is now working as a reporter.
However, fans of "Supergirl" might not be happy to learn that Kara Danvers' new job would be exactly like her cousin's, Clark Kent, also known as Superman. "Sounds like she's essentially Clark now," one fan noted in a Reddit discussion.
'Supergirl' Season 2: More Changes As Show Moves To CW
Supergirl TV implies that test dialogues don't necessarily make it to the show's plot, so the exchange between Kara Danvers and Nick Farrow could be just that exactly - a test to see how potential actors can work together. The site also has a test dialogue between Nick Farrow and Snapper Carr, suggesting that Carr will have a bigger responsibility in CatCo as one of its bosses.
Parent Herald previously reported that Cat Grant's role would be scaled down from "Supergirl" Season 2 owing to the fact that the actress playing her, Calista Flockhart, won't be able to move to Vancouver where the show is set to film from July to April. There has been a lot of changes to "Supergirl" due to its move from CBS to The CW. Hopefully, these changes will be an improvement, and not a disappointment, for its viewers.
