Facebook Messenger has a secret feature inside its app and it's only going to be available temporarily. The social media company installed a soccer game app in honor of the Copa America and Euro 2016 that's taking place this summer.
Even if you're not into the soccer game, the new Facebook Messenger secret feature could still be worth checking out, especially if you want to keep chats with your friends a lot more interesting. Spending a boring summer weekend? On a roadtrip with family? Keep yourself entertained with the Facebook Messenger secret soccer game with your Facebook contacts. Here's how you can access it:
Facebook Messenger Secret Soccer Game: How To Play
First, you have to have the updated version of the Facebook Messenger. So, go ahead and download the app for your smartphone via iTunes or Google Play. These apps are free and verified.
Then, once you have the Facebook Messenger opened, look for the soccer ball emoji and send this to a friend on your contact list. This step is an invite to the game, so make sure that your friend is okay to play and not in the middle of a board meeting.
Simply tap the soccer ball emoji to begin playing and keep tabs of each other's score. The objective is to keep the game in motion. You have to make sure not to drop the ball at the bottom of the screen. The game gets harder as the app introduces other distractions to keep you from scoring points.
Bustle reports that you can still actually play the game solo, or perhaps as you wait for your friend to reply to your invite. But score counts will not be logged until then.
Other Facebook Messenger Secret Games
Facebook Messenger also has two other secret games tucked away in its features. You can play basketball and chess with your friends while you chat. Basketball works the same way as the soccer game, where you will have on the ball icon to invite the player. For chess, type in these codes to activate it, per Trusted Reviews:
@fbchess play - to start the game
@fbchess play white
@fbchess play black
@fbchess (choose row and column) - to move the pieces
@fbchess resign - to end the game
@fbchess stats - to check your stats
These are just some of the ways the social site wants to keep its users engaged. It's expected that more features to the Facebook Messenger will be introduced in the coming months.
