Tons of details were recently unveiled about the upcoming DC movie "Justice League," which will mark the big screen debut of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg fighting evil side-by-side. Both DC and Warner Bros. are hopeful that their upcoming films will turn the tides away from the poor critical reception towards "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice."

'Assault Of Catastrophic Proportions''
Directed by Zack Snyder and produced by Deborah Snyder, "Justice League" will showcase Bruce Wayne/Batman (Ben Affleck) seeking the help of Diana Prince/Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) to honor the selfless act of Clark Kent/Superman (Henry Cavill) in "Batman v. Superman." Batman and Wonder Woman will recruit other metahumans to fight a "newly awakened threat" that will unleash "an assault of catastrophic proportions" on Earth, Entertainment Weekly reported.
Deborah Snyder recently confirmed to Comicbook.com that Steppenwolf will be the big baddie in "Justice League." Steppenwolf is Darkseid's uncle and was first seen in the DC Extended Universe through a deleted "Batman v. Superman" scene. He will lead an army of Parademons, Darkseid's foot soldiers that are already teased in the Knightmare sequence of "Batman v. Superman."
Deborah Snyder said that if "Batman v. Superman" was about a superhero's struggles, "Justice League" will focus on the "purpose of being a hero," Screen Rant reported. Superman's death will have a huge effect on Batman and made him regain his faith in "humanity and everything that's good." Though "Justice League" comes after the events of "Batman v. Superman," the movie will not feature the same grim and dark tone of its predecessor, according to Vulture.
More Cast Members Confirmed
Willem Dafoe's "Justice League" character was also revealed recently. According to Comic Book Resources, the actor will portray Vulko, the Atlantean ally of the Justice League. Vulko is a loyal servant of Aquaman and was responsible for introducing the superhero to his birthright in Atlantis.
In other casting news, Norwegian actor Kristofer Hivju will play as the Ancient Atlantean King in "Justice League," Screen Rant reported. Hivju is best known for his role as Tormund Giantsbane on "Game of Thrones." Jesse Eisenberg will also reprise his role as Lex Luthor, IGN wrote.

Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Amber Heard as Mera. The movie will bow in theaters on Nov. 17, 2017.
