It's been over six years since the first "Avatar" film hit the big screens. It's arrival made history for being the highest grossing film of all time. Now, fans are very excited to witness its sequel, "Avatar 2." According to reports, the delay was due to James Cameron's goal of perfecting the sequel of his most popular and groundbreaking film.
James Cameron Wants To Perfect 'Avatar 2'
According to Movie News Guide, James Cameron is taking his time to perfect the "Avatar" sequel. The creative and popular director wants to show everyone that the success of the first "Avatar" film is not a fluke.
Parent Herald previously reported that the "Titanic" director opted to push back the production of "Avatar 2" for a reason. James Cameron wants to show the world that the success of his films that tops the first and second spot ('Avatar' and 'Titanic' respectively) on the highest-grossing film of all time is not a mere luck.
In fact, Cameron re-read his "Avatar 2" script to make sure that everything is in place. "I'm in the process of doing another pass through all three scripts right now," he told Entertainment Weekly.
"You have to challenge yourself. Obviously, expectations are going to be very high on these films, especially on Avatar 2, to make sure it wasn't just some big fluke the first time," the "Avatar 2" director explained.
James Cameron No Pressure On 'Avatar 2?' Works On His Own Pace
Cameron does not also allow anyone to pressure the "Avatar 2" production because he keeps on his own pace. "Jim Cameron has his own pace," said Jim Gianopolus, Fox chairman-CEO per Variety. "It's a room...which is covered floor to ceiling with images, characters, worlds, settings. It's the most amazing, breathtaking thing you've ever seen. His challenge is to put all of that in a movie."
