‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ Latest News & Updates: No Plans For ‘RDR 2’ Launch? Sony Denies Orlando Shooting As Reason For Trailer Launch Cancellation At E3 2016

Many "Red Dead Redemption" fans were hoping to get a glimpse of the highly anticipated "RDR" sequel, "Red Dead Redemption 2," at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 on Jun. 14 to 16 in Los Angeles. However, they were left disappointed when Rockstar Games did not launch nor reveal any information about the game sequel.

Due to "Red Dead Redemption 2" launch cancellation, the online realm was filled with rumors as to why the sequel was a no show. But was the horrendous Orlando shooting incident really the reason why "Red Dead Redemption 2" trailer launch didn't push through?

Why 'Red Dead Redemption 2' Was A No Show At E3 2016

Last week, rumors circulated that "Red Dead Redemption 2" E3 2016 trailer launch was canceled in respect of the Orlando shooting tragedy. According to Metro, the trailer contained violent scenes and footages depicting a massacre in which a shooter entered a saloon and shot everyone dead.

Even though that particular speculation about "Red Dead Redemption 2" launch was believable, Sony PlayStation's Third Party Relations & Developer Technology Group vice president Adam Boyes revealed the rumors were actually untrue. As a matter of fact, Boyes stressed Sony PlayStation never planned to unveil a new Rockstar game in the event whatsoever.

"No, this is not true," Boyes posted on Twitter. "The length and content we showed has been locked and unchanged for months."

No Hope For 'Red Dead Redemption 2'?

In spite of the fact that Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick had announced that the studio will come to the E3 2016 event in a "big way," he never said or hinted to reveal or unveil a new game. But there's still some hope that "Red Dead Redemption 2" is currently in development stages as major "RDR 2" leaks have circulated, iDigital Times notes.

'Red Dead Redemption 2' Release Date Remains Unclear

Despite the apparent leaks and rumors regarding the release of "Red Dead Redemption 2" in 2017, the plans for the release date remain unofficial, unclear and unconfirmed, as previously reported. In fact, MobiPicker believes that Rockstar Games is still unready for a "Red Dead Redemption 2" launch but fans need not worry since Take-Two vows to unveil "exciting" new projects in the future.
