"Tekken 7" from Bandai Namco is set to be released on the PS4, Xbox One and the PC in 2017 and details of the game have slowly been coming out. The latest on the grapevine is that the popular fighting game will have the highest specs that would make playing "Tekken 7" more enjoyable in current generation consoles.
A Twitter post by Katsuhiro Harada, one of the developers of "Tekken 7," has confirmed that the game will be running on a 1080p/60fps resolution after a fan asked for the specifics. However, the question only referred to the PS4 and not the Xbox One. It is likely that the other console will carry a different specs.
It is widely known that resolution and graphics vary between consoles, especially if this affects the way the game runs on the unit. According to Ubergizmo, there have been plenty of Xbox One games that run differently than its PS4 versions, as either frame rate or resolution have to be sacrificed to achieve the best game performance.
Meanwhile, Harada recently figured in a controversy while answering another fan question for "Tekken 7" on Twitter. According to Crave, Harada confirmed that the game release in the North America will be without swimsuit options for the characters. However, the way he said this earned a backlash from his followers.
Apparently, when a fan asked about the swimsuits in the "Tekken 7" Western versions, Harada replied that they should be asking about this from the "SJW" instead. This stands for Social Justice Warriors, referring to activists groups in the United States that condemn the depiction of women in media. Some told Harada they were offended by what he said.
The developer has since deleted his post on Twitter and made clear that he's not slighting women in his statement regarding "Tekken 7." While this might sound like a trivial matter in general, it's a different thing altogether for "Tekken 7" fans who have been clamoring for this feature in the game.
"Tekken 7" is the ninth iteration of the game series. Arcade versions of the game have been released in Japan since 2015, but it is soon coming into homes of "Tekken" fans everywhere with the release of the 2017 console versions.
