'Avatar 2' News & Update: James Cameron Leaks New Detail About 'Avatar' Sequels In Comic-Con; Director Closing Doors About An 'Avatar' TV Show

There is no doubt that many are waiting for the arrival of the "Avatar" sequels. It has been over six years since the first "Avatar" film hit the big screens, yet "Avatar 2" is still in the dark. According to reports, James Cameron has finally given an update about "Avatar 2" and the rest of the "Avatar" sequels.

James Cameron Shares Writing Process In 'Avatar' Sequels

The "Avatar 2" director attended the San Diego Comic-Con for his work on "Aliens." However, "Avatar" enthusiasts took the opportunity to ask James Cameron about his progress on the "Avatar" sequels.

"I'm still writing. I finished Avatar 4 two days ago and Avatar 5 I need to do a polish on; it was written by another writer," he told Screen Rant. He added that he needs to polish "Avatar 5" because it was scribed by another writer.

James Cameron did not mention the name of the writer but was all praises to him. However, he decided to edit it so it will come close to his own perspective.

"But ultimately, I've done that across all four of them," the "Avatar 2" director added. "We knew that going in. We treated it as a writing room at the beginning and then everyone fed me what they could and I wound up with a thousand pages or whatever it was and now I'm going through it."

James Cameron Declines An 'Avatar' TV Show

For those wishing to see "Avatar" on the small screen, according to AV Club it is unlikely. Fans can expect for "Avatar 2" and three more sequels but there will be no "Avatar" TV show.

Per the reports, James Cameron explained that the special effects in "Avatar" is too expensive for a TV show. In fact, a minute close-up of the Na'vi already costs more than a million dollars.

The "Avatar 2" director suggests that an animated "Avatar" for a TV series might work. He even references to the "Clone Wars" cartoon as an example how the "Avatar" animated TV series might work.

How do you feel that James Cameron is still writing the script for the "Avatar" sequels? Do you agree with Cameron's approach on working all the four sequels together?
