"The Flash" Season 3 is off to a great start after star Grant Gustin won Choice TV Actor: Sci-Fi/Fantasy in the 2016 Teen Choice Awards. Gustin, who plays Barry Allen in the popular superhero show, was visibly ecstatic upon receiving the surfboard for the category. He was up against perennial Choice TV Actor: Sci-Fi/Fantasy winner and fellow CW star Ian Somerhalder from "The Vampire Diaries" for the award.
"Thank you guys so much," "The Flash" Season 3 actor said in his speech. "This is really cool. Thank you for voting. I got the coolest job in the world. I love to play this character. I get to work with the best cast and crew and creative team in the business."
This is not the first time Gustin was nominated for a Teen Choice Award, Comic Book reported. In fact before his win for "The Flash" Season 3, he already received Choice TV: Breakout Star last year for the same role. He also had two other nominations for "The Flash," including Choice TV: Chemistry and Choice TV: Liplock, which he shared with co-star Candice Patton.
In other "The Flash" Season 3 news, Gustin has revealed that the new season will not only be based on the "Flashpoints" comics, Comic Book Movie reported. While it will not last all season long, the "permanent ramifications" will be felt in the show, and even perhaps in the other CW superhero shows like "Supergirl," "Arrow" and "Legends of Tomorrow."
"The Flash" Season 3 will start airing on Tuesday, October 4, at 8 pm ET on the CW. What did you think of Grant Gustin winning Best TV Actor - Drama in the 2016 Teen Choice Awards?
