VH1 is gearing up for the upcoming premiere of "America's Next Top Model" cycle 23, which is reportedly making a revamped comeback on television this fall. Speaking of revamp, the show will feature a new logo, new location, new host and panel of judges.
"America's Next Top Model" cycle 23 first look was first revealed in April when the official tease art for the hit modelling reality competition show was unveiled. Even though few details has been about the "ANTM" reboot, Variety revealed that the competition will be set in New York City and not in Los Angeles, where the previous seasons took place.
In addition, the publication also hinted the possibility of another co-ed season for "America's Next Top Model" cycle 23, which will consist of 14 episodes. Aside from the location, VH1 has also officially announced the new host and the panel of judges for the show's upcoming season.
As for "America's Next Top Model" cycle 23 host, 25-year-old British singer-actress Rita Ora will be the show's new presenter who will replace "ANTM" creator, producer and original host Tyra Banks. The panel of judges, on the other hand, include plus-sized model Ashley Graham, celebrity stylist Law Roach and Paper magazine's chief creative officer Drew Elliot, Entertainment Weekly noted.
Since "America's Next Top Model" cycle 23 hinted a "fierce-a-fied rebirth," the show will reportedly introduce a new concept. As Parent Herald previously reported, the said new concept will include a weekly pop culture challenge.
Meanwhile, filming for "America's Next Top Model" cycle 23 has already begun in New York and Daily Mirror revealed that new "ANTM" host Rita Ora seemed to be taking her work duties seriously as she strutted the streets of the Big Apple in "chic and sophisticated" attires. Daily Mail also added that Ora and the "ANTM" team have already filmed the first elimination of the show.
In other "America's Next Top Model" cycle 23-related news, host Rita Ora and judge Ashley Graham are currently making headlines for various controversies. For Ora, she has finally broken her silence over Beyoncé and Jay Z's relationship drama, as well as the Roc Nation lawsuit in an interview with Cosmopolitan magazine.
Ora's name was also mentioned when former "X Factor" U.K. judge Nick Grimshaw revealed that it was the "Body On Me" songstress' "odd comments" that got them fired from the show, Daily Express learned. Moreover, Ora was also facing the clamoring of fans on Instagram to bring back Tyra Banks as the host of "America's Next Top Model" cycle 23, with commenters expressing their doubts on Ora's ability to host the show.
As for "America's Next Top Model" cycle 23 judge Ashley Graham, she recently became a target of body-shaming criticisms on Instagram. According to Shape, the 28-year-old plus-size model was accused of being a "fake fat person" when she shared a photo of herself where she didn't appear "too curvy" but to get back to her social media trolls, Graham wrote an inspiring essay titled, "Shamed If I Do, Shamed If I Don't," for Lena Dunham's Lenny newsletter.
