'Battlefield 1' Beta Latest News & Update: Features, Content & Guide On Choosing Preferred Platform

Weeks before "Battlefield 1" becomes officially available this coming October, selected gamers will be able to test out the game via the beta phase that is expected to go live after Gamescom. So, what awaits players when they enter the beta? Read on below for the features, content and guide to choosing the platform, as well as other important stuff.

Before anything else, you must have already signed up for the beta testing via the "Battlefield 1" official site. EA DICE has not officially announced when this will take place, but gamers' best guess is that it will be after the Gamescom, which takes place from Aug. 17 to 21 in Cologne, per Gamespot. EA DICE did give hints it will be holding "Battlefield 1" beta in the summer before the game goes publicly live, so the timing is ripe.

Whether you're playing via PS4, Xbox One or the PC for "Battlefield 1," you can enlist for beta testing. Dual Shocker reports that when you sign up for this, you will be diverted to a preference page where you can choose your platform. EA DICE will then send out the codes via email. For those who have previously signed up without seeing a preference change, you will also be provided with an option to tag your platform before you can play.

Players expecting tons of features to be already playable in the "Battlefield 1" beta might have to play with some restricted access during this phase. Though unconfirmed, various reports say that there will be different maps, new game modes and new vehicles that gamers can try out.

As detailed in a "Battlefield 1" video from an insider, which you can watch at the end of this article, there are already four maps available in the beta phase. The beta has also opened game modes like Operation, Domination and Conquest, which have been confirmed by "Battlefield 1" insiders.

Getting a taste of the gameplay is what gamers really look forward to in the beta. It will be enough to tide the wait for the release of "Battlefield 1." As the game is one of the most anticipated releases of the year, it is expected to ring in the sales when it's available in October.
