There's no official word yet from Discovery Channel on whether "Alaskan Bush People" is returning for Season 6. But while waiting for the renewal or cancellation news, the rumor mill is busy with other issues. Most recently, it has been revealed that the Brown kids are receiving salaries that are way below what "Teen Mom 2" stars are earning that they should probably ask for a raise.
The children of the Brown family starring in the reality TV series "Alaskan Bush People" are earning at around $40,000 to $60,000, while their father, Billy, has a salary of around $500,000, Blasting News reported. In comparison, the stars of the hit MTV reality show "Teen Mom 2" are getting paid around $100,000 per season. With the Brown brood maturing and the boys becoming reality TV heartthrobs, they should probably ask for an increase.
But maybe the show's authenticity is a factor why they are paid like that? There were several reports that the show is actually scripted. Instead of living in the bush in a house they claimed they built with their own hands, the Brown family is reportedly often staying in a hotel. The locals said that once they are done filming their scenes in the bush, the family retreats in Icy Strait Inn in Hoonah.
Meanwhile, the publication also reported that the locals said the Browns are back in Hoonah, Alaska, and are shooting for the next season of "Alaskan Bush People." While it has not yet been confirmed, should there be a Season 6, the Brown family might not be complete. Earlier reports revealed that two members were convicted for stealing thousands of dollars in Alaskan oil revenue. The silence about the show's fate could just work better for "Alaskan Bush People," which is reportedly one of the highest rated cable television shows, as fans keep the words buzzing on social media and so the anticipation for the show.
