While "The King" is certainly living the dream, he still has one more wish that he hopes will come true soon, and that is to own an NBA team.
It's no secret that LeBron James' life is all about basketball. Playing and dominating the game as a kid, and while his professional career is still on full speed, having recently signed a $100 million contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the best player in the world today already has his sights set on the future.
Making a guest appearance on the first episode of Open Run, the newly acquired podcast show of Lebron James' Uninterrupted, "The King" opened up about his future plans after hangs up his Nikes. James was asked if he would want to be a general manager for an NBA team after retirement, James says "I would love to be a part of a franchise, if not at the top." James then went on to say "My dream is to actually own a team and I don't need to have fully hands on. If I'm fortunate enough to own a team, then I'm going to hire the best GM and president that I can."
James also says that he would like to scout for the talent oh his team, saying that he has a decent eye for looking for players, developing them and establishing team chemistry. It's obvious that the three-time NBA champion and finals MVP has impeccable IQ.
Owning an NBA Team doesn't seem at all far-fetched, even though owning a professional basketball team would definitely cost a lot of money. With LeBron's newly minted contract that came with a hefty price tag, his $1 billion dollar lifetime deal with Nike, and his endorsements that stack up to roughly to $50 million a year, James' dream is certainly within reach, according to ESPN.
