The Sacramento Kings are now reported pursuing Ricky Rubio of Minnesota Timberwolves. Minnesota Timberwolves might be thinking to move Ricky Rubio since the Timberwolves acquired Kriss Dunn via NBA Draft.
With a limited point guard option, the Sacramento Kings are trying to find a replacement for Rajon Rondo's spot after he signed with the Bulls. According to a report made by Yahoo! Sports, though the majority owner Glen Taylor said that the Sacramento Kings are expressing an interest with Rubio, still nothing is imminent and he verified that Rubio will start with Wolves' on the opening night.
For the Timberwolves, Rubio can be a lot of help since he averaging a double figure scoring and more than 8 assists per game. Ricky Rubio is a terrific passer and knows how to roll the ball. With Rubio on the court for the Timberwolves, he can be a mentor for the young talents of their current roster due to his veterancy.
Now, the Sacramento Kings are on the right if they will push to have a deal with the Timberwolves for them to land Ricky Rubio. As the ESPN Stats Chart show, Rubio can pass as Rondo's same level, though in athleticism Rondo quite a bit of an advantage, but Rubio's perimeter shooting is much more reliable than Rondo's. As for today's NBA games, perimeter is more of an advantage than driving the lane, and for that, you cannot leave Rubio outside the arc since he can shoot above %35.
If the Minnesota Timberwolves plan to buy the deal of the rumored Kings's interest for Rubio, the Wolves need to be careful on the players that they will choose to acquire from the Kings. The Wolves are in the rebuilding process and needs to build a better support players around Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns.
