The big question today for Lance Stephenson is, where would he land? After a couple months, Stephenson will finally take his shot back in the NBA as the Pelicans expressed interest in him.
Lance Stephenson has reportedly been called up by the New Orleans Pelicans. The Advocate reports that Stephenson will attend workout with the Pelicans which will start Monday, August 29th.
The New Orleans Pelicans are already packed with 15 players, all with guaranteed contracts. With Stephenson on the line, Pelicans need to adjust and make changes in their lineup.
If the New Orleans Pelicans add Stephenson on their roster, he can make a lot of impact on the defensive end and be a mentor to Buddy Hield, the shooting guard rookie drafted by the Pelicans.
With Lance Stephenson on the bench, he can play a backup shooting guard or even a small forward. He can provide help in scoring with his slashing ability and is also a good playmaker as he did back in Indiana.
Lance Stephenson is highly notable for his defensive prowess especially his short rivalry against LeBron James back in the 2014 Eastern Conference Finals where he was caught on camera blowing James' ear.
On the other hand, Ty Lawson already found a new home in Sacramento. According to ESPN, the Sacramento Kings and Ty Lawson already agreed to a 1-year deal and will play as a backup point guard for the Kings this coming season.
With this deal, Ty Lawson will be able to continue his NBA journey, giving him enough time to showcase his talent and show that he deserves a contract extension. Ty Lawson may use the 82 games of this coming season to improve his scoring, with the DeMarcus Cousins in the painted area, Lawson could also find a way to improve his assist stats.
Both Ty Lawson and Lance Stephenson have been struggling last season, both of their stats are declining compared to their previous seasons. The difference is, Lawson already got himself a new contract while Stephenson is still in search.
