Nothing can really stop Studio Wildcard on their objective to develop and improve "ARK: Survival Evolved" before its full release later this year. As a matter of fact, the game developer has launched the biggest update on Xbox One and PC platforms since the game's Early Access release 14 months ago.
With the massive "ARK: Survival Evolved" update comes the game's newest downloadable content called, "Scorched Earth." According to Daily Express, the game's latest expansion will feature a new "drought-ridden desert" environment suffused with new creatures, bosses, maps, biomes, challenges and gameplay mechanics.
Based on Studio Wildcard's blog post, gamers should learn how to survive the parched conditions of the desert-themed realm in "ARK: Survival Evolved" latest "Scorched Earth" DLC. As for the expansion's key features, "Scorched Earth" consists seven unique, desert themed biomes including the most unsafe dragon trench, dunes, mountains, canyons, high desert, badlands and oasis.
Moreover, "ARK: Survival Evolved" new "Scorched Earth" DLC will also introduce the latest fantastical creatures in the dinosaur-survival game. These creatures include the camel-like Morellatops, the Death Worm, as well as the deadliest and the most ferocious boss creature in "ARK" history - the Manticore.
As Studio Wildcard released the "Scorched Earth" DLC in "ARK: Survival Evolved," the game developer also added the NVIDIA's Ansel in-game photography tool support. As per WCCF Tech, NVIDIA Ansel will allow players to capture images from any position with resolutions higher than the gamer's monitor's maximum resolution.
Despite the fact that "ARK: Survival Evolved" is getting more interesting and exciting with the addition of the "Scorched Earth" expansion, Studio Wildcard was reportedly slammed on Steam due to the paid DLC. Steamed reported that players weren't happy that the game's newest DLC costs $19.99 since "ARK" is still currently an Early Access game.
Studio Wildcard co-founder Jesse Rapczak, however, was unfazed on the reactions of some players to the "Scorched Earth" DLC price. In fact, Rapczak admitted to Polygon that he can never change the ideological issue of some people on "ARK: Survival Evolved" as an Early access title, stressing they can never please those people.
Meanwhile, Studio Wildcard reportedly flaunted the new content of "ARK: Survival Evolved" at the PAX West event, which was held in Seattle on Sept. 2 to 5. GameSpot also revealed that "ARK" co-creative director Jeremy Stieglitz posted on Twitter that the new update for the "ARK" Xbox One Game Preview version will feature full 720p 3D rendering and 1080p UI and was released on Thursday, Sept. 1.
