It looks like viewers of "Lucifer" will finally learn more about Chloe's (Lauren German) background. In one episode of the upcoming second season, Chloe will receive new information about her father's murder case. The show will deal with the story via flashbacks, which will present Chloe's dad ten years before he died.
According to TV Line, Chris Payne Gilbert will be playing Chloe's dad, John Decker, on "Lucifer" Season 2. The real-life husband of "Lucifer" cast member Lesley-Ann Brandt, Gilbert will have his moments featured in flashback scenes in the seventh episode of the new season.
Ten years ago, John Decker was a cop whose murder sparked a big change in Chloe's life. As explained in "Lucifer" last season, Chloe was 19-years-old and was kicking off her career as an actress when her father was killed. This led her to ditch Hollywood and become a cop just like her dad. Apparently, Chloe, in the present day, will receive new information that could finally bring closure to her father's murder in "Lucifer" Season 2.
Meanwhile, Lauren German posted a new teaser for "Lucifer" Season 2 on her Twitter, which features her and lead star Tom Ellis (as Lucifer). The clip shows Chloe and Lucifer as an investigative team. Lucifer is heard saying, "We'll punish those who deserve it." The teaser is entitled "Doing the Devil's Work," which you can watch below.
Chloe met Lucifer in the very first episode of the show, when she was tasked to lead the investigation into the death of a close friend of Lucifer's. She has no inkling of his real identity and has agreed to have him along for her other investigations because Lucifer did help her solve her cases faster.
Lucifer is intrigued by Chloe because he seems to be vulnerable around her, to the point that he bled when he got shot by a bullet. It's still a mystery why Chloe has this effect on him, which "Lucifer" should be able to answer in succeeding episodes.
"Lucifer" returns on Fox on Monday, Sept. 19. Stay tuned for more updates.
