‘Pokémon GO’ Tips & Tricks: How To Catch Rare Pokémon Snorlax & Dratini Successfully

Having rare Pokémon is one of the players' goals in "Pokémon GO." Catching rare creatures such as Snorlax and Dratini will boost trainers' chances in defeating other Pokémon and winning Gym battles.

Snorlax and Dratini are two of the most powerful Pokémon in "Pokémon GO." Snorlax, a Normal-Type creature, has a base attack of 180, defense of 180, and stamina of 320. This huge Pokémon has a maximum CP or Combat Points of 3112.85, according to Ranked Boost.

Snorlax doesn't appear in a specific place and is usually popping up randomly. To catch Snorlax in the wild, "Pokémon GO" players must use Incense in locations that other trainers haven't visited yet. Lure Module should also be used at rare PokéStops that a Pokémon is sure to spawn in, International Business Times reported.

Another way of getting Snorlax in "Pokémon GO" is hatching a 10 KM (6.21 miles) Lucky Egg. Hatching 10 KM Eggs usually yield rare Pokémon such as Snorlax. Getting an Eevee from a 10 KM Lucky Egg, however, is the most common.

If those two tricks mentioned above don't work out, "Pokémon GO" players can always opt to contact other users and ask them about the rare creatures they have already caught. Players should also visit new locations and always check the game's Nearby option.

Like Snorlax, Dratini is one of the strongest Pokémon in "Pokémon GO" that gets more powerful as it evolves into Dragonair and eventually into Dragonite. The Dragon-Type creature has a base attack of 128, defense of 110, and stamina of 82. The Pokémon's CP can go as high as 983.47, Ranked Boost wrote.

Dragon-Type Pokémon such as Dratini can usually be spotted in golf courses and in famous or significant landmarks in cities or countries, Eurogamer reported. However, hatching Dratini from a 10 KM Lucky Egg can be hard.

Both Snorlax and Dratini belong to the S-Tier list in "Pokémon's GO" new Buddy system feature. Being in the S-Tier list means that a Pokémon is the most efficient Buddy a player can choose, while the ones in the F-Tier list are the worst Pokémon to pick as Buddy, according to a separate report from Ranked Boost.

Walking 5 KM with Snorlax, Dratini, or even Lapras can give three Candies to "Pokémon GO" trainers. The Pokémon Buddy Tier list is based on how rare a Pokémon is and how strong it is when it comes to defending or attacking a Gym.
