‘Pokémon GO’ Tips & Tricks: How To Easily Catch Pokémon Far Away From You

Some Pokémon can be difficult to catch in "Pokémon GO" because they are located too far away from the player attempting to capture them. Precious Poké Balls are usually wasted when this happens and that's really frustrating for players. Here's how you can easily catch distant Pokémon.

A "Pokémon GO" player shared a tip via Reddit on how to catch distant Pokémon. The first thing users have to do is activate their devices' Augmented Reality mode, which players usually turn off to conserve battery energy or to prevent the app from slowing down. The AR mode in "Pokémon GO" uses the device's camera to display the Pokémon in the real world instead of a generic, grassy background.

After activating "Pokémon GO's" AR mode, players should position their device until the far away Pokémon appears at the bottom of the screen. Afterwards, players must throw a Poké Ball like how they usually do. This trick makes the Pokémon easier to catch without the need to throw the Poké Ball as far as possible into the distance.

Aside from using the game's AR mode, "Pokémon GO" players can also throw their Poké Ball from the bottom left of the screen to catch a distant Pokémon, Heavy advised. Use the device's edge as your guide in throwing the Poké Ball totally straight. This kind of throw will send the Poké Ball into the distance and hopefully curve a little to the right and hit the Pokémon.

Some "Pokémon GO" players believe that Pokémon have been popping up farther away from players since the game's newest update, Heavy added. They also speculated that the capture rates have been changed in some way, though no absolute proof came out regarding this matter.

Colored circles appear around the Pokémon you're trying to catch. The rings have three different colors and levels, with green indicating that the Pokémon is easiest to capture, orange means a more challenging catch, and red is the toughest catch.

Niantic advised "Pokémon GO" players to throw a Poké Ball on the Pokémon when the capture ring is at its smallest size because this will give you bigger bonuses. However, catching a Pokémon while the ring is red increases the creature's likelihood to resist capture.

You should also remember that feeding the Pokémon with Razz Berries will increase your chances of catching Pokémon. Stay tuned to Parent Herald for the latest "Pokémon GO" updates, tips, and tricks.
