Niantic Labs will soon release a new "Pokemon GO" patch on Android and iOS, according to several reports. Happily, Niantic Labs will include the sought after "buddy" system for "Pokemon GO."
Anyone who plays "Pokemon GO" powering up their critters will understand the importance of Poke Candies. Up until know, the grind for anything other than Rattata or Pidgey candy (due to their absurd over-abundance) on "Pokemon GO" can be a real chore.
However with the new "Pokemon GO" "Buddy System," Pokemon trainers can assign a buddy Pokemon who will earn the associated type of Poke candy over time and travel. This effectively makes earning "Pokemon GO" candy a more diverse and tolerable grinding experience for Pokemon trainers.
The "Pokemon GO" patch notes also indicate that from release it should be easier to pick those smaller Pokemon on-screen. The "Pokemon GO" update also improves performance and user interface responsiveness and provides support for the recently released "Pokemon Go" Plus watch accessory, which Pokemon GO Hub reports on.
We can already see that "Pokemon GO" trainers will probably jump on assigning Magikarp as their buddy immediately (given its relative rarity and extremely high evolution requirements). However, according to Forbes, it seems that "Pokemon GO" players may have to wait.
According to the report, the "Pokemon GO" patch has already been somewhat delayed. No word yet from Niantic Labs as to why the delay has happened or when it the "Pokemon GO" Buddy system update will eventually drop.
Bear in mind that it was only last week that Niantic Labs announced the "Pokemon GO" patch with its imminent release. At the time of writing and almost a week later, no sign yet of the "Pokemon GO" patch's release on the iOS or the Google Play stores.
Through managing to obtain the "Pokemon GO" patch's .apk file, intrepid Android data miners have found other features lurking within the impending release other than the usual array of bug fixes and exploit preventions. One of these will result in Pikachu riding the "Pokemon GO" player's shoulder after buddying up with him for 10 kilometers.
Once the "Pokemon GO" patch is released, the Niantic Lab update it should be available on both iOS and Google Play stores. What "Pokemon GO" update from Niantic Labs are you anticipating the most?
