PS4 Latest News & Update: No Mod Support for Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition Leaves PS4 Owners Emptyhanded

Players who are excited to use mods in Playstation 4 are in for some bad news: Mod support for Fallout 4 or Skyrim Special Edition won't be available. Bethesda may have yet a solution for this.

Bethesda expressed disappointment over Sony's decision to disapprove the mod supports. Apparently, the "long been ready" PS4 mod support was not given a go signal by Sony. PS4 owners were promised of mod support four months ago, says Eurogamer.

Xbox One had launched their Fallout 4 with mod support in May leaving PS4 owners empty handed. Despite the holdback of the launch of PS4's mod support for Fallout 4, Peter Hines of Bethesda recently said that its mod support is still the company's priority, according to VGA 24/7.

Skyrim Special Edition in PS4 should be launched on October 28. But now that Bethesda announced that there is no mod support for the PS4 version of the game, we don't know if fans are excited about the launch anymore.

Sony has been keeping mum about the situation, which may make them look like the bad guy. Bethesda, too, has been keeping mum as to the reason of Sony's disapproval of the mod support but has also lamented over their wasted time and efforts.

"Like you, we are disappointed by Sony's decision given the considerable time and effort we have put into this project, and the amount of time our fans have waited for mod support to arrive," Bethesda said. Though Bethesda's apologizing statement is an act of kindness, the company owes it to their customers to at least try to explain properly what had transpired in back talks which resulted in the disapproval of Sony.

PS4 owners should now be worried if they bought the right gaming gadget. Bethesda said they will provide updates should changes be made. "Until Sony will allow us to offer proper mod support for PS4, that content for Fallout 4 and Skyrim on PlayStation 4 will not be available," Bethesda added. Looks like Bethesda's hard work didn't pay off.
