‘Pokémon GO’ Tips & Tricks: The Key To Defeating A 2000 CP Plus Dragonite

Dragonite is one of the most powerful Pokémon in "Pokémon GO." Many players shy away and get discouraged from fighting the Pokémon (especially with one that has 2000 CP and more) in Gym battles.

Despite its strong and intimidating presence in "Pokémon GO," Dragonite isn't entirely undefeatable. The creature can be beaten using common Pokémon even those with 1000 CP and below. It should be noted, however, that this highly depends on the Pokémon Type and attack moves.

Dragonite, a Dragon/Flying Type Pokémon, is weakest against Fairy, Rock, Ice, and Dragon Types, Ranked Boost listed. If you want to vanquish your opponent's Dragonite, you should consider using these Pokémon types and avoid using Grass, Bug, Fire, Ground, Fighting, and Water Types.

According to Pokémon GO Database, the best Fairy Type Pokemon in the game is Wigglytuff. The Pokémon has a base attack of 168, defense of 108, and stamina of 280, with is maximum CP at 2177.20, Ranked Boost listed.

To win against Dragonite in Gym battles, "Pokémon GO" trainers should use Wigglytuff's moveset of Pound and its Play Rough or Hyperbeam charge attacks. Mr. Mime also stands a chance against Dragonite.

Clefable is another Fairy Type Pokémon that has strong chances against Dragonite in "Pokémon GO." Clefable has a base attack of 178, defense of 178, stamina of 190, and a maximum CP of 2397.71, according to a separate report from Ranked Boost. Clefable's Pound base attack and Moonblast charge attack can really put a dent on Dragonite's defense.

As for Ice Type Pokémon, it's best for "Pokémon GO" players to use Cloyster, Dewgong, and Lapras against Dragonite. This trio possesses a base attack of Frost Breath or Ice Shard, which can greatly weaken the powerful Dragonite.

Using Blizzard as the three Pokémon's charge attack can also do a great deal of damage. With these moves, a 1142 Cloyster, for instance, can defeat a 2117 Dragonite, according to Pokémon GO Database.

Lapras can be hard to obtain, though. You can use Jynx as a replacement for the Pokémon, GameA advised. Other Ice Type Pokémon that can learn the Frost Breath and Ice Shard moves are Tentacruel, Seadra, Golduck, Wartortle, Slowbro, Blastoise, Poliwrath, and Shellder, Pokémon GO Database listed.

For Rock Type Pokémon, it's best for "Pokémon GO" players to use Aerodactyl, Golem, Kabutops, and Omaster against Dragonite, Pokémon GO Champ listed. Stay tuned to Parent Herald for the latest "Pokémon GO" news, tips, and tricks.
