"The Goldbergs" Season 4 premiered with of one of the best teenage movies from the '80s, "The Breakfast Club". A lot of scenes on the episode were similar to the 80's movie, but of course, with a little more funny moments from the Goldbergs family.
"The Goldbergs" Season 4 is Adam's (Sean Giambrone) new life as a freshman in high school. The normally geek kid isn't a kid anymore as he tries to overhaul himself with stylish clothes similar to his favorite movie, "Breakfast Club" starring John Hughes. As he tries to reinvent himself as a John Bender-like badass, people in his school seem to think otherwise.
Meanwhile, "The Goldbergs" Season 4 has Erica Goldberg (Hayley Orrantia) is still trying to get over her ex boyfriend. To prove that she's okay with it, she took her best friend's dad to a "Dating Video" in the mall so he can find himself someone to date with. As her plan became unsuccessful, she found herself being frustrated with what's happening in her life.
The firstborn child of Beverly Goldberg, Barry (Troy Gentile) has another agenda, and that is his future. Barry Goldberg is known to explore everything.
From karate to basketball player, he came up with a conclusion that he wants to be a P.E. teacher. That idea made his dad uncomfortable. But Barry is Barry, he does whatever he wants.
While all the three Goldbergs siblings have their own business to tackle in "The Goldbergs" Season 4, their mom Beverly Goldberg (Wendi McLendon-Covey) also thought of something she wants to do other than being a mom. Beverly Goldberg revealed wanting to be a Substitute Teacher at her children's school, which makes the young Goldbergs furious.
Due to this instance, the Goldbergs siblings ended up disrespecting their mother which led them to detention. This detention was Adam's opportunity to re create the famous 80's movie, "Breakfast Club". As ludicrous as it sounded for all of them, except for Adam, all three siblings started dancing, getting into a vent to get out and looked exactly like in the movie.
The creator of the "The Goldbergs," Adam Goldberg, wants to clear out about their '80s inspired storylines. "We're not supposed to go out of our way to figure the '80s thing. It's just the way that I am that I use all the stuff from my childhood as a filter when I look at everything so that comes up naturally." One of the totally '80s things to expect this season includes a Les Miserables production, according to TV Guide.
The creator of the show also has dreams of doing a crossover with "The Goldbergs," and he figured, "Stranger Things", a Netflix original. TV Line reports that Adam Goldberg revealed having an idea, which he does not wish to spoil.
On top of that exciting crossover for "The Goldbergs," Adam Goldberg also hopes to put Molly Ringwald on the show. More episodes of the comedy '80s inspired TV show are coming up every Wednesday night (8/7c) on ABC.
