‘This Is Us’ Episode 3 Spoilers & Theories: Kevin Threatening Kate-Toby Romance; Is Jack Dead In Present Time?

The upcoming episodes of NBC's "This Is Us" are not going to be a walk in the park for Kate and Toby. Kate's twin brother, Kevin, will drive a wedge between the two's brewing romance.

In episode three of "This Is Us," Kate's (Chrissy Metz) close relationship with Kevin (Justin Hartley) will put a big hamper on her budding relationship with Toby (Chris Sullivan). According to TVGuide, Kate will have to "choose between them, and she might not have the strength to choose what is best for her."

"This Is Us" star Sullivan said in a recent interview that the Kate-Toby romance will face challenges though it will also be a "romance for the ages," Parent Herald previously reported. Toby will be by Kate's side as she tries to lose weight and at the same time, he will make sure that Kate will not be too hard on herself.

Being with Kate will teach Toby how to be comfortable in expressing himself and to not put up a façade anymore. Sullivan added that Kate and Toby's real and authentic selves will surface thanks to their connection.

Fan theories are surfacing about the upcoming twists and turns of "This Is Us." One theory is that Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) is actually dead in present time, according to Bustle.

The premiere episode of "This Is Us" revealed that Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and Jack are the parents of the Big Three: Kevin, Kate, and Randall (Sterling K. Brown). However, during the last moments of episode two, Rebecca was shown in present time married to Jack's close friend, Miguel (Jon Huertas), while visiting Randall.

This spurred "This Is Us" theories that Jack is indeed dead and it's possible by how the Big Three talk about the lessons their father imparted to them. There are speculations as well that Jack was killed while on the line of duty (probably as a detective or cop) and Miguel was actually his police partner, Bustle added.

Another "This Is Us" theory is that Jack and Rebecca are divorced and the couple's once movie-like romance disintegrated along the way. However, there are speculations that the ending scene of episode two was misleading and Jack was really there parking the car or something, and Miguel just came with the couple.

Viewers should also expect more back story about Randall's biological father, William (Ron Cephas Jones). "This Is Us" creator Dan Fogelman said that episode three will explore young William by going back to the '70s. Fans should expect plenty of secrets revealed.

"This Is Us" continues with its third episode titled "Kyle" on Tuesday, Oct. 11. Watch the promo below.
