‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 13 News & Spoilers: Arizona’s New Love Interest Teased By Jessica Capshaw; Bridget Regan Guest Starring

Jessica Capshaw was absent in the first two episodes of "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13. The actress, however, is back into the fold in episode three and she will immediately be thrust into the Alex-Andrew spectacle.

In a recent interview with TVLine, Capshaw's Arizona will be torn between Alex (Justin Chambers) and Andrew (Giacomo Gianniotti), given that the former is her pediatric crime partner and the latter is her roommate. Aside from this, Arizona will deal with her former flame, Callie (Sara Ramirez), moving to New York City with their daughter Sofia.

Capshaw is unsure whether Arizona and Callie will still have a proper closure, though she didn't rule it out. The 40-year-old actress pointed out that Callie is still alive in the "Grey's Anatomy" universe, so it's possible that the former lovers will reunite sometime in the future.

With her and Callie broken up, it's natural for Arizona to move on by finding a new love life. Capshaw told TVLine that Arizona will soon get a new love interest this season and that she will be a new character.

"We had to wade through a little muck first. But I do feel that Arizona has certainly waited long enough," Capshaw added. "Grey's Anatomy" creator Shonda Rhimes first revealed about Arizona's newfound romance in the medical drama series.

Capshaw told The Hollywood Reporter that Arizona's new love interest is probably someone with a "great amount of confidence and excitement." She hopes that it will be "fun, sexy and exciting," with lively exchanges and banters.

Arizona will find herself in the middle when it comes to the Alex-Andrew dispute. Aside from Callie, the doctor also has a close relationship with Alex and it's highly likely that the latter would reach out to her for some kind of help and assistance.

Alex's behavior with Andrew will both fire her up and worry her. "There's an understanding that she might be able to both be upset at Alex and sad for Andrew," Capshaw continued, as quoted by TVLine.

In another news, it was recently announced that Bridget Regan will guest star in the 13th episode of "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13, according to a separate report from TVLine. Regan's episode will be titled "The Room Where It Happens."

Regan was previously seen on "The Last Ship," "Jane the Virgin," "Marvel's Agent Carter," "Beauty and the Beast," "The Black Donnellys," "White Collar," and "Legend of the Seeker." "Grey's Anatomy" continues with episode three this Thursday at 8/7c on ABC.
