Xiaomi's reputation as a Chinese brand is in no way a stumbling block for the 4th largest Smartphone maker to stand shoulder to shoulder against giant companies in their field. Their consistency precedes the fact that they can, and will continue to produce quality devices for the adventurous market. Their latest venture, the Mi Note 2, might just be their crowning glory for the time being, at least.
Although Xiaomi has yet to announce the Mi Note 2 to the general public, rumors about the so-called most expensive Smartphone in their lineup has been piling like pancakes as of late. BGR India recently posted several photos of the handheld, and it's looking extremely gorgeous.
However, the latest screenshots revealed that Xiaomi's next flagship won't have a dual-edge curved display, just like it was previously hinted. Instead, it showed a Smartphone with "ultra-thin bezels" but with a catch: the website pointed that the ambient light sensor, the earpiece and the front facing camera are nowhere to be found on top of the new Xiaomi device.
The same publication also added that the design isn't new to the tech world. Sharp's Aquos Crystal had the same blueprint, except that the three features were moved south and below the capacitive buttons. As a result, they theorized that this may not be the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, but it could be a "completely new prototype device that Xiaomi has been working on."
On the other hand, Xiaomi's Chief Executive Officer Lei Jun had already mentioned that the Mi Note 2 "could come with a surprise," but there's no relative stamp on what the handheld would pack. Fans know that Xiaomi already gave the green light for the Mi Note 2 to be mass produced, and it is expected to come out on Oct. 25.
As for its specifications, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is said to flaunt a 5.5inch QHD Super AMOLED dual-edge curved display screen, though recent updates has marked it with a question mark for now. Powering the device will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core chip, along with a generous 6GB RAM and an option to go 64GB, 128GB or 256GB of onboard storage.
Xiaomi will likewise give the Mi Note 2 with a 16megapixel dual-rear camera with Qualcomm's latest ClearSight technology. Up front is a 5megapixel snapper, Quick-Charge to augment its massive 4,000mAh juicer, dual SIM card slots, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Operating System and an alleged Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
To add to the hype, Xiaomi was also reported to be releasing a "Pro" version of the Mi Note 2 with a whopping 8GB RAM, 256GB memory and Android 7.0 Nougat.
