BOSTON- The linebacker returns to his college after his rookie pro season with Carolina Panthers which gave his parents a smile of honor.
In Fox Sports news, Luke spent his first semester after winning the NFL's defensive rookie of the year award back in school while living in a dorm with his friends and taking five classes toward his degree. He finished all his academic requirements online over the next two off seasons and graduated in the year 2015.
Kuechly led the nation in tackles for two consecutive seasons in his college prime and won a few awards like the Butkus, Nagurski, and Lombardi before going pro. He was selected by the Carolina Panthers as the No. 9 overall selection in the 2012 NFL draft.
He was considered to be the defensive Rookie of the Year and to be the defensive Player of the Year the next year. The previous year, he assisted the Panthers to have a 15-1 record and earn a spot in the Super Bowl.
Kuechly said in his interview at Herald Courier that it was the best feeling when he was back with all his friends again. He enjoyed going back to the old dorms, spending time with his gang, and it was probably his favorite part about being back.
Although he had spent time on campus, the NFL superstar hadn't been back for a game because of the complexity of matching up his NFL off weeks with the Boston College schedule.
He even stated that when he was walking back on campus, he feels very nostalgic. Listing some of the places he had missed are the dorm that's been demolished, the dining hall, and the new school building.
